RE
Overview
At St James’s, we believe that RE is an integral part of our broad and balanced curriculum. We aim to explore what people believe and what difference this makes to how they choose to live their lives. RE lessons at St James’s foster children’s curiosity in exploring the concept of religion and enable them to gain the knowledge, skills and understanding to reflect upon questions raised by religion and belief whilst displaying respect and tolerance for those who have different beliefs to their own. In additional to this, the journey that our children embark on encourages them to reflect upon what we learn from each religion in order to apply this to their own lives, choices and values. In turn, this allows our children to make informed decisions about their own religious beliefs.
