Design and Technology
Design and technology is an inspiring, rigorous and practical subject. Using creativity and imagination, pupils design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values. Throughout their time at St James’s children will be develop their knowledge in food and nutrition, mechanical systems, textiles, electrical systems, structures and the digital world. They will also acquire a broad range of subject knowledge and draw on disciplines such as mathematics, science, engineering, computing and art. Pupils learn how to take risks, becoming resourceful, innovative, enterprising and capable citizens. We want our children at St James’s to not only have Design Technology in their lives as a way of enjoyment, but also as a potential future career in the Design Technology profession.
